This time in two weeks, we’ll be one day into our passage to Cabo and this floating show will finally be on the road. We have a few items left on the to-do list–only one is really important, a few packages still to arrive, a few more good-byes, and some provisioning. Aside from the good-byes and provisioning, we could set sail this minute and be just fine. Anything that gets done from this point forward is icing on the cake as far as I’m concerned.
It’s a funny moment in time as we’re so ready, but there are still some important steps to take. I was describing the feelings I have to a friend and she said, “It sounds like you have senioritis.” And while I am not feeling a lack of motivation, I am very much ready to close the chapter on this phase of this sailing project and move on to the next one–you know, sailing…
Our fellow Baja Haha rally boats have started to roll into San Diego with many more to come in the next week. Our crew, Michelle and Mike, arrive on 10/29 and that will really mark the start of the passage for me. We’ll focus on getting them settled on the boat, attending the planned rally events, and drop our mooring line at 10:00am on 10/31.
In the meantime, I’m going to enjoy these final days in San Diego.
